Elbert County is currently in a Stage 3 Burn Restriction.
Effective June 22, 2020, The current Burn Restriction Stage for Elbert County is:
STAGE III
STAGE III RESTRICTIONS shall prohibit the following activities:
a. Open burning of any kind.
b. Outdoor smoking, excepting smoking within an enclosed vehicle or building, a
developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter
that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.
c. The sale or use of fireworks.
d. Use of educational rockets.
e. Use of indoor fireplaces and wood-burning stoves without an approved chimney
spark arrestor.
f. Use of recreational motor vehicles without an approved forest service spark arrestor.

Safety Reminder
The most important thing is to
remain calm, think clearly, and put
people before possessions.

Stop.
2.
Turn off the car.
3.
Get everyone out of the car.
4.
Move away from the car and
warn others.
5.
Call 911 to alert the fire
department.
6.
If the fire is small and there is
an extinguisher, use it. But
use caution when doing so.
